About

BRAXTON  ALEXANDER

has been building with wood since 2005. Getting his professional start at an architectural woodturning shop in Southern Maine, he then made his way through a handful of various specialty shops over the next decade. Braxton has learned from a broad range of building methods and employs both conventional and traditional practices. He takes pride in his ability to build with high efficiency, thoughtful joinery and passionate design: both in furniture and cabinetry. He draws his inspiration from designers including classics like George Nakashima, Pierre Chapo, Pierre Jeanneret, Wharton Esherick, and Donald Judd- blending notes of mid-century modern, Scandinavian and traditional Japanese design.

Braxton and his family reside in New York's Hudson Valley. Braxton creates his pieces from his wood studio located in Kerhonkson.

Braxton and his team are available for commissions ranging from custom tables, chairs, desks, shelving units to custom kitchens and other built-in cabinetry. Striving to make sense of clients' needs and individual aesthetic, Braxton is highly adaptable in providing a product and experience that reflects the connection between both the maker and you the individual.
